Join the PIA Urban Data Network (Victoria) for a Missing Maps Map Party, where planners, data enthusiasts, and curious newcomers come together to put vulnerable communities on the map!
Each year, disasters strike areas that lack reliable maps, making it harder for emergency responders to deliver aid. The Missing Maps initiative empowers volunteers to trace roads, buildings, and infrastructure on OpenStreetMap, creating vital open data for humanitarian organisations worldwide.
This session will focus on mapping to support response and recovery efforts.
No experience? No problem. You’ll receive a short tutorial on the intuitive GIS tools then work alongside friendly mentors, while enjoying pizza, good company, and a shared sense of purpose.
Bring your laptop, charger, and enthusiasm.
Leave with new skills, new connections Be part of something global. Help us turn data into action—one map tile at a time.
