Planning with Country Resources

Acknowledging the First Planners of Australia and the rich culture and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples is an invaluable part of our history. As planners, we have the responsibility to play an active role in the evolution of planning practice; the work planners undertake on a day-day basis in all areas of this profession, we engage either directly, or indirectly with Country and Mob. Planning with Country provides us with the opportunity to put Country and Culture at the centre of our practice to inform planning processes and outcomes. We encourage the process of unlearning and re-learning, telling the truth of our history, and embracing the opportunity of healing Country, relationships and building a 'two-way' approach to planning for our shared future.
