Event outline
Join the 2026 PIA NSW Emerging Planners Network Committee, in collaboration with the Urban Design Association (UDA), for City Walks & Talks: Transforming Parramatta - a guided walking tour exploring how Parramatta’s city centre is being reshaped for the future.
As Sydney’s River City, Parramatta is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by major infrastructure such as the light rail and metro, alongside new cultural destinations and revitalised public spaces. The tour traces the city’s emerging core, taking in Parramatta Square, George Street, the future Civic Link, and the river foreshore.
Along the route, Urban Design Association’s Deena Ridenour offers expert perspectives on Parramatta’s evolution, and how its history, contemporary projects, and ambitious plans are redefining the city’s streets and spaces.
Following the tour, there will be an optional informal networking session at a nearby cafe, where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage further with the tour guide.
During the informal networking session, attendees will receive a voucher redeemable for a complimentary regular coffee.
Delivered by PIA NSW Emerging Planners Network Committee in collaboration with the Urban Design Association (UDA).
