The Statement of Priorities (SOP) is a snapshot of the current key issues facing Emerging Planners (EPs), including policy and practice-based issues, as well as broader concerns around employment, education, and professional development.
An EP refers to a student or early-career professional in the field of urban and regional planning, with no more than five years since concluding their formal education in Urban Planning.
The SOP provides a broad representation of EPs across the state, creating a foundation to guide how the NSW Emerging Planners Committee (the committee) will advocate with impact and to inform our strategic directions, policy submissions, advocacy, events and broader delivery.
The SOP provides the committee with insights on NSW EPs to understand: what challenges they are facing what support do they need how can the committee better advocate for their career progressions, wellbeing and inclusion in the profession The SOP has been prepared by the committee using results from the "Pulse Check!" engagement survey, along with broader research and feedback.
