Her City: From History to Horizons
Explore how women have shaped Perth through this guided walking tour, highlighting pioneering stories and the role of planning in creating more inclusive and vibrant cities.
Event Outline
The Women in Planning Network WA (WPN WA) invites you to join a guided walking tour of the Perth CBD as part of the PIA WA State Conference 2026.
This session will explore the transformation of the CBD, acknowledging the often-overlooked contributions of women to the history and development of Perth, while also highlighting broader economic and planning initiatives shaping the city’s future. Hear from Flavia Kiperman from SLR Consulting, as well as Julia Kingsbury and Kristen Anderson from City of Perth, who will share insights into the evolving CBD and the developments influencing its next chapter.
Through a gender and inclusion lens, the tour will reflect on the role women have played in shaping the city and examine how current and future planning and design decisions are contributing to a more equitable, diverse and accessible Perth.
This on-foot session offers a valuable opportunity to experience these changes firsthand, connect with peers, and gain insight into both the historical foundations and future direction of planning in Perth.
