This CPTED training for Planners and related professions provides a detailed overview of the use of the international CPTED standard ISO22341. This is the first internationally agreed standard of CPTED best practice and replaces earlier approaches based on 'CPTED guidelines. The new ISO standard for CPTED is grounded in evidence of what works and what doesn't in CPTED practices - much of which challenges earlier assumptions and principles - and increasing liabilities for developers around crime risk management. The ISO standard includes 3 formal CPTED processes (for planning, design and management of the built environment); 10 CPTED methods (replacing the previous 5 CPTED principles); a focus on crime risk rather than potential vulnerabilities; and to ensure CPTED ROI is positive.
