The Planning Institute of Australia manages awards programs to promote planning and recognise innovation and excellence in the built environment, specifically in areas related to or involved in planning Australia’s cities, towns, regions and places.
National Awards for Planning Excellence
The National Awards for Planning Excellence recognise and acknowledge quality, innovation and excellence in planning throughout Australia. The Awards promote the important role of the planning profession in the creation of Australia’s built environment, and stimulate public awareness of good planning.
Australia Award for Urban Design
Originating from the Prime Ministers Urban Design Task Force in 1996, the Australia Award for Urban Design is given to new Australian urban design initiatives that are innovative, demonstrate excellence, and contribute to a wider appreciation of urban design.
