Liveable Compact Cities Project

Discussion Forum Launched!
As part of the Liveable Compact Cities Project we have established an online discussion forum to gather views on housing options and affordability in SE Queensland. It will run for the duration of the project (late December 2011), and will complement our online and phone survey and inform the four face to face forums scheduled for the beginning of July.
There are six questions:
- Will you be living in a larger, smaller or similar size dwelling in 10 years’ time?
- What would you be most willing to compromise on when moving into a new property?
- Is being within walking distance to public transport going to be an important factor in choosing your next home?
- What types of housing products would you like to see in your area?
- How do you believe new development and heritage housing can successfully co-exist?
- Do you have any other comments on housing options or affordability in SE Queensland?
The forum will be moderated on a 24 hour basis by Bang The Table.
The discussion forum can be accessed at http://seqhousing.seqmayors.qld.gov.au/
The project is supported by the Australian Government’s Housing Affordability Fund and being project managed through the Council of Mayors (SEQ).

The LCCP team would be very grateful if you could promote this discussion forum through your networks and on your agency/organisation websites – via a link if possible. We will be issuing a press release in due course, and advertising the forum in local newspapers across the South East Queensland during the next fortnight.
If you have any queries please contact me or one of the project team members at Council of Mayors.
