PIA undertakes policy at a national level and in states and territories, dealing with a wide range of issues. Policy typically takes the form of Position Statements, Submissions and Policy Guides. The statements are made publicly available and enable PIA to strengthen its position as an advocate for planning.
The PIA Strategic Plan identifies Policy and Agenda Setting as a strategic priority for the Institute. PIA Policy is developed to influence all levels of government in policy setting and influence public opinion on planning issues.
