Additional benefits are extended to people who meet or have met the qualification and experience requirements to be Members, Fellows or Life Fellows. These include:

  • Opportunity to seek professional certification through the Certified Practising Planner scheme (open to Members only)
  • Ability to use PIA postnominals to publicly verify professional affiliation and standing
    • MPIA – Member of the Planning Institute of Australia
    • FPIA – Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia
    • LFPIA – Life Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia
    • CPP – Certified Practising Planner (used in conjunction with any of the above)
  • Capacity to shape and direct your professional association by voting on Institute matters.
  • Ability to be actively involved in directing the association, by nominating for office at a National or Division level within the Institute.
