The new Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority which came into effect on 1 January 2012 continues the work of the former redevelopment authorities revitalising large areas in and around Central and East Perth, Subiaco, Midland and Armadale. The MRA’s role is to transform urban spaces, creating places where people want to live, work and recreate. This forum will discuss examine how the MRA will operate, who the key players are and examine in more detail the roles and responsibilities.

A New Heritage Act

On 19 April 2011, Heritage Minister John Castrilli launched Western Australia's first State Cultural Heritage Policy. The review of the Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990 is the first major initiative arising from the Policy. This session will provide an overview and update on the review process and major features of the new Act.
